Pixel Brothers Design creates and delivers award-winning concepts for motion graphics, 3D animation, print, interactive, film effects and more. Capable of supplying design needs for projects in all stages of development, we find that the earlier we’re brought into the decision-making process the better we can utilize our skills to maximize the success of your production, whatever it may be.
When given the opportunity to be in on all aspects of a project, the design process can influence the concept, how it’s directed and shot, and can help mold the entire production to better fit the clients’ needs and desired aesthetic. That’s a huge advantage to the client and makes the most effective use of the Pixel Brothers team.
The Design Department is happy to talk about all the high-end graphics software they’ve got—and the awesome coffee machine in the kitchen that keeps them going, but great design isn’t about software or premium equipment alone; it’s about talented people churning out polished, eye-catching designs time and again, no matter what the medium.
Thus, our design team is led by award-winning Design Director Sean Maloney, who comes to us straight from Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Studios. His approach of applying high-concept artistic expression with technology-savvy design gets the job done right the first time. Design can be a tricky process when it comes to ferreting out the needs and wants of the client and meeting them. Maloney uses a full set of technical resources, mixed with determination and versatility, to consistently surpass client expectations and ensure that all design components reinforce the project’s purpose.
The Design team is capable in all aspects of production, from shooting & editing to delivery across a wide range of avenues, and fluent in a vast array of design asthetics, so that we can optimize your design package to best suit your project’s needs.

CLTV

In the past year, CLTV, Chicago's 24 hour news channel, has tapped the Pixel Brothers Design team of Sean Maloney and Mark Rizzo to help them brand and launch 2 new programs: Garrard McClendon Live and Living Healthy Chicago.
The team was responsible for designing every graphic element to establish the look and feel of the shows, from the logo and opening animation to the text-based informational graphics and custom transitions. Making sure the shows had an aesthetic that fit their purpose was of primary importance. "Pixel Brothers heard my vision for programming and quickly turned around elements that worked well" said David Rosenberg, CLTV's Director of Programming. See it here

The Chicago Convergence

It was only natural that the Chicago Convergence come to Pixel Brothers when they needed a high-end animation to bring their newly designed logo to life. For help on this project, Design Director Sean Maloney called on the 3d capabilities and design talent of Dan Wulfing.
Said Dan, "Openings are probably my favorite projects, especially when they are about motion graphics and Chicago. Once the general look was established, the process was fairly straightforward. We used a model of Chicago and flew a camera through it, then on a separate pass we grew the colored trails. In the end, we took the rendered frames and camera data into After Effects and started laying in the effects, typography and color correction. It was great project for a great client. I was more than happy to be a part of it." See it here
